Adaptive Networks

Adaptive networks combine dynamics on a network with dynamical changes of the underlying network topology. The intriguing interplay of local and topological dynamics makes robust self-organization possible in these networks. Recently important breakthroughs in the understanding of adaptive networks have been made and it is becoming more and more apparent that they could hold the key to many phenomena observed in a wide variety of applications.

Almost all real world networks are adaptive. Model of adaptive networks therefore presently receive rapidly increasing attention from researchers from very different fields including discrete mathematics, statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, sociology, economy, engineering, computer science and others. While adaptive networks are attacked with a variety of tools that different disciplines have established, common themes frequently appear and a unified theory of adaptive networks seems within reach.

The purpose of this website is to collect references to scientific publications on adaptive networks. This is done to bridge the gaps between disciplines and point out related phenomena and results. Further we aim to provide a reasonably comprehensive collection of previous works to provide a starting point for researchers entering adaptive networks research.
